I had a few weeks’ hiatus while scrambling around for the holidays – but have one last teaser for you before the close of 2010. This photo is reminiscent of what Christmas trees will start looking like in the next few weeks. Can you figure out what it is?
Ignore the parallel horizontal lines – they will be explained on Monday. And yes, the photo quality’s not great, but the reason for that will be clear on Monday as well.
Have a very happy new year, and be sure to keep reading us in 2011!
Some kind of tender plant inside one of those in place plastic green house thingies? They look like a bid tube.
It looks like it’s underwater.
Roots growing in water?
Something growing between greenhouse panels?
This is a pond plant, but with my fuzzy mind this morning I am not able to recall the name and I refuse to cheat by looking it up! Happy New Year!
A tree branch beneath frozen water
It looks like a photo taken under water of an old christmas tree. The lines are wire, cable, or some other material that is used to bundle several trees together or to attach them to a weighted object to keep them in place. The bundles of trees are sunk in a lake or river for use by fish and other species as habitat. This particular one seems to have stuff growing on it which means it has likely been under water for a while. This is a great way to recycle old christmas trees!
